A War for Your Soul - Personal Reflection

In all honesty, the first time I watched this I was a little put off by the voices. However, the more I watch this video, the more poignant and meaningful it becomes. It is definitely a good conversation starter.

I have shown this video in both my English Media and African Studies classes, both times the video was well received and it was clear that it made the students think, however, I saw no positive change in any of them. It was a strong video with a strong message but not strong enough to compete with the much stronger messages that students are getting from media and their peers.

A Woman's Worth is a blog created to inspire, encourage and motivate BOTH men and women to recognize a woman's worth. We have all heard and MOST OF US wholeheartedly believe that WOMEN ARE EQUAL TO MEN, yet we continue to live in a world where women are DENIGRATED, DEGRADED and DISRESPECTED. Many of us believe that we have achieved equality simply because a few words have been entrenched in constitutions and charters around the world. The worth of women has yet to be realized and there is still a struggle for equal opportunity and access. EQUALITY may be recognized in writing but EQUITY has yet to be achieved in reality.
